​-        Willie O’ree played for the Quebec Senior Hockey league with the Quebec Aces.

-        O’ree lost 95% of his vision as he was hit with a errant puck.

-        In 1958 The Boston Bruins called him up for 2 games to replace a injured player (not knowing O’ree had lost nearly all of his vision in his right eye) O’ree accepted and made his debut as the first Black Man to play in the NHL.

-        During the 1960 – 1961 season O’ree got a second opportunity to play for the Bruins , He appeared in 43 games collecting 14 points on four goals and 10 assist , He also logged 26 penalty minutes.
